Self-care can be generally defined as being a friend to yourself. Recognizing when you need a soft, gentle environment, when you need a break, when you need a treat, when you need some space, when you should pay special attention to your mind, body, and soul.
Living in the world isn’t easy — everyone can agree on that. And for the first time in living memory, people are allowed to experience poor mental health without fear of being told:
It’s the holistic anthem: “have you tried yoga?”
Every three minutes, people with chronic mental disorders, stressful jobs, busy families, and physical constraints are advised by yogis that stretching it out can change their entire outlook — spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally.
That statistic isn’t real, but it sounds likely, doesn’t it?
Now, yoga cannot solve everything.
But the insistent cries of yoga-believers aren’t unfounded.
A rabbi and a Taoist monk walk into a clubhouse… Only the punchline isn’t hilarious – it’s accessing higher consciousness. Holy people walk all around us.
This is no great secret: Big corporations don’t care about the environment.
They pollute the world’s landfills, manufacture cheap thrills for the masses made of toxic materials, and drain the nutrients from foods and wines while adding preservatives and chemicals.
